First Appearance: LIAB Text 30 (referenced)

Holly Shortcake was the Chief Dollamancer of Jetstone until she croaked in an ambush. She was killed in the woods while accompanying some Battle Bears, despite the fact that she was disguised at the time.

She specialized in plush and glass, making many different types of cloth golem and tchotchke, to the delight of her side. With her spare juice, she made raiment for the courtiers of Jetstone, further building her popularity.

Despite her successful creation of capable military units, she had no taste or inclination for combat or strategy. King Slately loved her, and hopes the Titans will allow him to meet her in the afterlife. One of her dolls was kept by King Slately as a way of remembering her.

[edit] Real World References

Holly Hobbie and Strawberry Shortcake were children's characters designed in the 70s and owned by American Greetings. Among the merchandise of the two characters are plush dolls.

Ace Hardware's description of Holly's death is based on the song "Teddy Bear's Picnic". Holly got a "big surprise", and not even her disguise could save her.

"If you go into the woods today
You're in for a big surprise.
If you go into the woods today
You'd better go in disguise.

For every bear that ever there was
Will gather there for certain, because
Today's the day the teddy bears have their picnic."
