The name "Duckula" refers to Count Duckula, the main character of a English cartoon television show of the same name from the 1980s about an anthropomorphic duck with vampiric powers. Due to a resurrection spell gone awry by the application of tomato sauce/ketchup rather than blood at the vital moment, Duckula was returned as a harmless vegetarian rather than a bloodsucker. [1]
