Sing will approach the door, inform Adreena that spells have to be targeted at me to be counterspelled, and teleport past the gate to see if there's a mechanism on that side to open it.

FYE: I'm still alive and will resume game in a few days - got stuck travelling a few days longer than planned. Not home yet.

Can I get a head count or shout out from players to confirm you are all still around?

When [Adreena] is satisfied that there are no traps or that she has dealt with all obvious ones she will attempt to pick the lock. [ 18 ] Fail! The first attempt at picking the lock is a disaster.
Craven asks "Raveesh, are the local snakes poisonous?" [ 13 ] Raveesh seems distracted and unwilling to answer.

Sing looks around. There are no obvious means of opening the gate. It just seems to be locked.

Craven turns to Raveesh to ask him again about the snakes, but the Grey Marbit is looking down the passage, eyes wide in terror. Poiting, Raveesh gasps: "Taker"

Wildthwing is doing his part, standing still. Looking into the nothing. And then - eyes. Red eyes. Glowering. Wildthwing cannot look away, but stands transfixed.

Red glowing eyes are never fun, Doctor Love Shacks thinks they should not be so glowy, Doctor Love Shack will hurl a Hunting Spear at one of those eyes.

Craven keeps his eyes down as he quickly shifts from behind Wildthing to being beside him. He then strikes out twice with his sword and returns to being behind Wildthing.

OOC (Because my character isn't bright enough to have this idea.): I think we should try using one of our mirrors to fight this.

Adreena passes the word " Gate's open folks, Raveesh and the casters get going through." [ 6 ] Adreena convinces the team to follow her advice…
She will wait for them to get by then step forward to get a shot on the "Taker" [ 13 ] Miss!
Craven keeps his eyes down as he quickly shifts from behind Wildthing to being beside him. He then strikes out twice with his sword and returns to being behind Wildthing. [ 7 ] A very close strike, the Taker dodges aside at the last moment, hissing and spitting…
Second attack…. [ 13 ] Miss!
Sing moves to invisibly scout the intersection. Sing notices a very dark shaft. The passage on the left angles upwards, the passage on the right angles downwards.
Toothry casts detect enemy [ 10 ] Success! Toothry is certain that the Taker is the only enemy near by…
The Taker strikes at Wildthwing… [ 7 ] Hit! Just as Wildthwing is shaking himself alert, the creature bites him on the left forearm.
Wildthwing takes a toughness check… [ 12 ] Fail! Wildthwing is wounded, semi-dazed, shaken, and deafened all in the same phase.
