Yeah, you go actin' all modest now. That was an awesome piece of work!

(I'll look into the Flash thing myself; I've done some animated gifs in the past and apparently got lucky with the colours).

Update on that: I presume you used the options: Adaptive palette, Optimize Colors, No Interlace. Dithering should work either way.

Well, when I used Flash for animated gifs (as for example here:

and one original frame- only the background in the photo was removed-, so that you get a colour comparison

it was from a sequence of imported images, pngs in my case. This does sound a bit too much trouble for it to be worth it for vector graphics, but you might try export your anims frame by frame to, for example, high quality jpeg, then in a new Flash doc do Import to Stage on the sequence.
