Mini rant time.
I'm getting incredibly sick of the folks who make accounts just to whine about the fact that Erfworld is in a text-heavy period right now, with snarky jabs like "it's not a webcomic without the pictures", especially when their questions are generally things that could be easily answered by looking at the Site News. So I feel the need to send a very strong message back to Rob.
EVERYTHING Erfworld that you do is wonderful, and the varying media you use only serve to further enrich the story for those real Erfworld fans among us who care about the actual story beyond just the pretty pictures. Furthermore, these Backer stories are proving to be a truly fantastic thank you to the generous individuals who helped fund the comic in the first place, such that I am furiously refreshing my email page more times an hour than i care to count, waiting for this Book 3 Kickstarter to go live so I can get whatever high-backer package there may be.
Everyone has a right to be bummed about the text updates if that's not their thing, that's fine. But to imply that these updates detract from the story is just selfish. Don't listen to them Rob, you've crafted a deep and detailed world here, and there are just as many if not more of us who deeply appreciate all the different ways you give us further insight into it's workings and people.
"I'm afraid I don't understand. And also afraid that I do."
Two guys with basically the same name in a discussion about a character getting cloned.
There's gotta be a good joke in here somewhere.
