heads-up: main page comp. intensive

I noticed this problem yesterday, but thought it would go away. Whenever I go to the current main page for Erfworld, Firefox freezes up. If Im viewing anything else at the time, the whole computer locks up. Im not a computer guy, but I suspect it might be one of the banners.
