The Nintendo 3DS

Nintendo has recently revealed a new handheld system dubbed the 3DS that is going to replace the nearly 6 year old DS. Notable because it will incorporate 3D games into a handheld system, all without having to wear funny glasses. It'll also be backwards compatible with the DS, which is good for people like me who needed a replacement DS but hadn't gone out and bought a DS Lite or DSi.

Not much is known about it right now since Nintendo is keeping as tight-lipped as ever, but are intent upon having them available for demo runs at the next E3 convention. Thoughts? Hopes? Dismay?

I'm not thrilled with the idea of 3D gaming. That said I wasn't sure about the extra dimensions they started adding to Mario when the N64 came out. I think I'll just stick with my DSi, the novelty camera is novelty enough for me.
