Doesn't matter whether the player permits it or not. PCs retired to NPCs stay that way, and out of the action, until the PC returns. No exceptions. You can roll a new 1st level to take as your secondary PC if you'd like.

0beron wrote:Marbit that is because you never wrote down the bunch of spare Fire ones I crafted. I don't remember how many, but it was at LEAST 2, so I'm going on the low side.
Nemo and Fortune now have fire cloaks. As this is officially a new game, all stats from this point on are as written. I'm not going to search through 3 months of forum posts to determine if there's a missing extra cloak or not.

T Coil will go on Mission 1 and Sekan will go on Mission 2, depending on where triage decides to go, we might want Junetta along for Mission 1, if for no other reason than to potentially capture any stray Leadership Units.

Can't Coil just Stun them? I'd figure we'd want her to go on one of the other missions, for the same reasons you give.

All of my stuns do damage, armor-piercing damage, and Stun lasts all of 1 turn. So no

Fair enough. I'm tempted to do so, if only so I could have a secondary character in reserve. But I don't have a character concept in mind right now, only a build (a Spearman with Leadership, if you're wondering).

EDIT:
Since the group leaving on the mercenary mission lacks a unit with Leadership (last I checked), I think I'll go ahead and declare that I'm going to make a character for that. (A Spearman with Leadership, who's destined to become a Cossack if he lives long enough...)

And I even have a (partial) character concept in mind, now. But first, I'll need to read a one-hundred and twenty-eight year-old book translated from Polish for reference material.

Rudy will go on mission 1 I think... I hope his leadership will be of some use there.

Thomas the Tank will of course take option 2, as he is a mercenary by creation.

    1) Assault on Logan Run
    2) Charlie's Mercenary Mission #1
    3) Escort Mission
    4) Random Encounter Mission
Assuming that #3 is referencing the Ixian mission, Yuri will call the Queen again briefly prior to the departure of any units on #1 and confirm what the move value of the units in need of escort are. If they're moving at faster than infantry speed we'll want to avoid putting infantry in the escort group so as to not slow them down... which, unfortunately, nixes the possibility of Yuri leading the most diplomatically-related of the missions and takes up some of our scant cavalry assets. On the other hand, if they have infantry in their group then he might as well lead our party there, and we'll be able to send more troops more easily.

Given that turns are fairly sizable and he has little else to do with his move (thinkagrams don't exactly eat entire days), Yuri is inclined to lead short-range foraging groups in an effort to be productive. He probably won't turn up much given the limitations of Move, but he can cover hexes that the other foragers aren't hitting and even a handful of shmuckers are better for the side than the zero he gets from sitting in Dis City drilling at weapons and toying with the female units. Any units who aren't doing anything particularly productive already and have a foraging bonus but could use some leadership can come along; I'm not sure how much leadership helps with foraging but it shouldn't hurt.

It is likely that Yuri will call the Breatheairians at least once during either Turn 11 or Turn 12, but he'll confer with Tod beforehand- what exactly is our overall strategy and timing, and given that, what impression do we want to try and give the elves? The biggest reason to call them- aside from seeing the funny looks on their faces- is to give them misinformation and probe them for anything they might let slip, but ultimately that's done in support of our military strategy, so having specific defined military objectives would help out a bit there.

We could dispatch the Balrug...

But I think Yuri's needed at Logan's Run. He has to lead the Squad of Heavies into the thick of the enemy's forces.

1) Fortunes Chance, T Coil, Rudy, Nemo
2) Blackbeard, Sekan, Nnelg's 2nd, Thomas the Tank
3) Yuri
4)

I'll keep this updated with people's choices.

Don't be so sure of this one yet. For instance, Yuri hasn't confirmed that he'll be going to the escort mission. (We need him more at Logan's Run, anyways.)

I think it's also safe to assume that everyone's going to Logan's Run unless they say otherwise. (Nemo certainly will be going.)

Marbit, still waiting on your reply to my email concerning a mercenary unit I can play.

Donovan will likely go with Option 1

Triage will go to Logan's Run unless we think it's more advisable to bring Junetta. (Note - in terms of capabilities, Triage and Junetta can output the same amount of healing, though Junetta can heal more in a protracted battle and can stun. On the other hand, Triage can break wards, which I think may be more useful given the enemy Healomancer).

Though I haven't been keeping track of Wards explicitly, I expect we should be able to get every unit in Dis City warded by one of the two Healomancers.

PS: Is Dis City officially level 4?

Yeah, I think you two now have enough juice to ward everyone going forward, since most units still had their full wards. We'll figure out how much juice you have for healing / warding potions once all the queue orders have been determined.

And yes, Dis City is now officially Level 4.

If Yuri's call comes back saying that the escort has infantry move, then Brick will head out with Yuri to act as additional protection. The escort is essentially a vip, after all, so Brick will do what he can to ensure a safe arrival.

A question about "stationed at Dis City" actions, as they seem to be synonymous with 'idle'. What other options are available, like, you know, self-training and trickshots?

Also Will isn't adverse to foraging. He's adverse to being relegated to just twiddling his thumbs in a city and/or foraging, while other more mobile units get all the combaty fun.
The whole point of this is lost if you keep it a secret.

Yeah same goes for Rolf I missed out on a weekend of computing due to my wife's birthday and suddenly 5 pages erupt with 3 turns, no less, of Rolf twiddling his thumbs. Rolf is likely to have spent those turns training with the other heavies in tactics and formations ( or otherwise Rp'ing out their increased combat and defence bonus that paragon/bersrker gives)
Rolf is likely to go on scenarios 1 or 3 depending on anticipated formation of assualt or escort forces. In other words he will go where the heavies are needed.

I pretty much have to go to Logan's run, since other options are either worthless or SURE to get me killed...whereas Logan's run is only "likely" to get me killed.

"Stationed at Dis City" simply means "didn't do anything that would change stuff I need to keep track of for scenarios". Treasury, units that are available, karma, and items or effects on units are things that I track from turn to turn.

If what you did doesn't alter what resources are available for the next scenarios, I don't list it in the status reports. All players are still assumed to be 'living their lives' - encouraging and inspiring units if they're Paragon, training and maintaining discipline, etc.

Before we get too over-excited, remember that we have a Squad of Heavies (presumably) at the Battle of Logan's Run. They need leadership, and the best we have at that. If Yuri's leaving on the escort mission, We'd have to use Tod or Wandereus. And they probably won't get a mount, since space will be tight at the gate.

And if non-cavalry units are going on the escort mission, we should be sending them on the Balrug. This means the number of slots available would be limited to four.
