While things are still fresh and new here in the forum, I thought I'd bring up the topic of forum software. In my limited and out-of-date experience with phpBB, I found it pretty hard to expand. Have you thought of moving to something a little more supported and fancypants, like simple machines?

I have the most experience with phpbb, so that's what we went with initially. We can always investigate a change down the line. Most forum software comes with converters these days, so we may be able to just migrate directly when the time comes (if it does)

Yeah, I didn't have too much trouble converting phpBB to vBulletin back in the day, and vB is pretty similar to SMF. You're probably right on that. Do you know how extreme the intent is to get with the forums? I'm not sure if phpBB has premade plugins like spoiler tags, but they'd be very nice to have.
