Reactions to Tabula: An Erfworld Tale

Words in a line. All fanfic goes here, Erfworld or otherwise.

This was a fine update, with a smooth and satisfying starter rich in detail followed by a warm main dish split into a variety of portions. The delicate flavours of the latter parts of the text served to bring forth further imagery onto the palate, and the small but well-rounded ending completed the reading nicely.

All in all, I recommend any and all read Tabula: An Erfworld Tale if they're fond of a fine fanfiction experience in a friendly atmosphere.

In President Allosaurus's latest update of Tabula: An Erfworld Tale, in order to convey the humdrum of survival, the condemnation of ending turn, and the silencing enchantment of the journal, President Allosaurus chooses diction matching the banality of a military drill when describing the narrator's trip to Space Altar's battlespace, and a calculated shift of tone to foreboding to contrast Erfworld's natural state of tedium with the hazard of its politics on the entry of this "Green" character which brings to home how Erfworld mirrors not only our world's memes, but also its mortality, uncertainty, and even humanity.

"Tabula: An Erfworld Tale" most recent update is brilliantly cinematic in the way he positions honor against practicality. President Allosaurus shows considerable skill as he mounts scene after scene to what will surely build up to a moving climax.

Cautious optimism from this corner on the overt FF6 allusions that seem to have sprouted these past couple of entries.
and in despair i bowed my head
"there is no peace on erf," i said
for fate is strong and mocks the song
of peace on erf, good will to men

The most current update just affirms my belief that "Tabula: An Erfworld Tale" is the best work of Erfworld Fanfiction. President Allosaurus possesses the rare ability to probe an Erfworlder's heart, touching the humanity laying past their armor.

My head is rapidly approaching early Erfworld proportions thanks to Arkaim.

Amazing. The good President outdoes himself again in his latest update, juxtaposing a rather banal event with a masterly portrait of the chief warlord facing the actualized consequences of his decisions, desolate. Truly, President Allosaurus is a singular antidote to stale convention.

I seem to recall it being mentioned somewhere in the comic that a unit being above level 10 or 11 is pretty much unheard of. I'd find the link but its late and im super tired. Does anyone remember this? If its correct it might be a good idea to retcon red's level to 10 or 11. That being said I love this. Obviously it has a lot of speculation in it ( do we even know if you can level a city up?), and I think the old side giving up three casters is an insanely generous thing to do (Jetstone has 4 casters and they are a pretty powerful side) . But those things aside I love Tabula. Very enjoyable and im looking forward to the next update greatly.

It's not a level cap, as much as that it's very rare for anyone to get to level 10 or 11. Getting over level 11 is really rare, and level 20 in unheard of.

I am aware of what the comic has said about levels over 10, yes. I feel Red's level is justified and appropriate for her role.

Sorry for lack of updates, in the middle of moving and didn't make a buffer first. My fault. Looking to post next update Friday.

I personally find your use of Civ IV graphics as illustrations particularly inspiring.

Keep up the good work!

PS Erfworld Civ scenario, anyone?

I must apologize for the extraordinarily long and unannounced hiatus. My computer fried, so I had to A: Get a new computer, B: Re-obtain the programs, and C: Recreate the world map I used. Updates should, again, resume as normal from here on out. I am looking to do a "once every other day" schedule. Feel free to hate me viciously if it fails.

Well, if Red has been around for thousands of turns, and every dozen or so fights a major battle, I don't think it's impossible.

I don't like that King. He seems pretty useless.
